Dingwall staff rise to the challenge for sport relief

Posted 15 Mar 10 in UK

Staff at the Vertex contact centre in Dingwall will be volunteering on the frontline this month to provide support for Sport Relief 2010.  Donation calls from around the country will reach the contact centre where staff from both the Dingwall and the Forres centres will be volunteering for the duration of the fundraising night on March 19th.

Vertex staff, keen to support the charity further, are holding fundraising activities in the run up to the big night - most notably they will be walking the distance from Dingwall all the way down to Westminster, home of client Westminster City Council.  Calculating that the circumference of the contact centre is a sixth of a mile around, staff will do 3444 circuits of the centre in a relay to walk the equivalent 574 miles.

One particular Vertex employee has been an unstoppable fundraiser for various charities during her 11 years with the company.  Margaret Scott has raised over £8,000 by organising staff events such as Friday Games Day, Virtual Cycle Ride to India and themed fancy dress days.

Kathleen Lohse, Customer Services Manager at Dingwall, said: “Once again, our wonderful staff at the Vertex centre are giving up their time to support a very worthwhile charity.  We look forward to handing over a big cheque as a result of our fundraising efforts, as well as processing the thousands of donations which will no doubt come through our centre on the Sport Relief night.”
